The Mutt Strutt benefits the San Marcos Animal Shelter through the Guardian Angel Program, created in July 2007. The Program asks for $50 donations which go towards the adoption fee of a pet the donor can help choose. The donor's name is put on a sign on the run showing which animal is being sponsored. The Program focuses on older, less attractive animals that might otherwise be overlooked. With all fees covered, the Program has been extremely successful in finding these animals a new owner and home.
